Chelsea old boy Victor Moses suffers another injury setback
Published: April 19, 2023
2017 Premier League winner with Chelsea, Victor Moses has suffered another injury setback, allnigeriasoccer.com reports.
The retired Nigeria international has been omitted from Spartak Moscow's traveling squad to Zhigulevsk for the second stage of the semifinals of the Fonbet Cup of Russia Path of Regions.
Moses has remained in the Russian capital Moscow, where he is undergoing individual training.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner is recovering from an undisclosed ailment that has seen him miss the last two games played by the Red and Whites in the Russian Premier League.
He sat out the two Moscow derbies against Dinamo Moscow (April 8) and Torpedo Moscow (April 15).
This month, the midfielder made two appearances off the bench, against Akhmat Grozny and Ural, after recovering from an Achilles tendon injury that kept him out of action for approximately eight months.
There has been speculation over the future of Moses at Spartak Moscow, with reports linking him with a departure from the 22-time Soviet Top League/Russian Premier League champions in the summer, one year before the expiration of his contract.
In 2021, Moses ended a nine-year association with Chelsea, with whom he also won the Emirates FA Cup and UEFA Europa League.
