Anglo-Nigerian duo help Tottenham Hotspur win U17 Premier League Cup
Published: April 20, 2023Tottenham Hotspur won the U17 Premier League Cup on Wednesday night after beating Nottingham Forest in the showpiece, with two Anglo-Nigerian youngsters on parade for the north London club at the City Ground.
Schoolboy Callum Olusesi and Damola Ajayi, who is in the first year of his scholarship at Spurs, were named in the starting lineup by manager Stuart Lewis.
Forest took the lead in the 12th minute when Danny Anisjko picked up the ball from the edge of the box and curled in a wonderful strike into the bottom right hand corner, but the lead lasted only two minutes as Oliver Irow restored parity after the ball was laid into his path by Olusesi.
With the home team down to ten men, Tottenham made their numerical advantage count as Moore did well to get into the box and finished expertly.
Despite a resolute defensive performance the Young Reds, Sours were bale to extend their lead with sixteen minutes left on the clock when Tyrese Hall made no mistake from close range.
Moore grabbed his second of the game in the 77th minute and Hall wrapped up the scoring in the 90th minute.
Olusesi has played non-binding games for England at U16 level, while Ajayi is uncapped.
