Romano reveals Man Utd signing Kane or Osimhen will depend on the budget and new owners
Published: May 01, 2023
Italian transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano has reiterated that Manchester United's priority in the summer transfer window is to bolster the attack with either Harry Kane or Victor Osimhen, but the Tottenham Hotspur superstar is top of their wishlist.
The Red Devils are also looking to bring in a central defender, midfielder and back-up goalkeeper to provide cover for David de Gea.
A new owner is on the horizon at Manchester United with the Glazers' expected to choose a preferred bidder in the coming days.
Romano has revealed that the Red Devils signing either Kane or Osimhen will depend on their budget for a striker in the summer and who will be the new owners of the club.
Napoli have not yet determined a price tag for Osimhen but a fee of between €100m and €150m is being bandied about as his possible asking price, while Kane is valued at 100 million pounds despite having approximately one year left on his Tottenham Hotspur contract.
"Now the idea is to go for a top striker. Harry Kane is one of the top options they have on the list alongside Victor Osimhen, but again it depends on the budget, how much Manchester United can spend," Romano said on his YouTube page.
"At the moment there is no negotiation for Kane. It depends on Tottenham and at the moment nothing is concrete or advanced, same for Victor Osimhen, still waiting for Napoli to put a price on the player.
"Same for Chelsea, PSG, Bayern - they are together with Manchester United in the race for Victor Osimhen."
The 24-year-old Osimhen became the most expensive Nigerian player in history when he joined Napoli from Lille in exchange for 70 million euros in 2020.
