Nigeria-eligible winger Noni Madueke scored his first goal and started his first Premier League game for Chelsea in their 3-1 away defeat to Arsenal at the Emirates to further deepen their woes this season.
The London derby was Madueke's seventh league appearance for the Blues under Graham Potter and Frank Lampard.
Both sides were even in possession albeit Granit Xhaka went close within the first five minutes but Kepa Arrizabalaga managed to smother the ball.
Saka 15th minute header caught by Kepa but the Spaniard could not stop Martin Odegaard's fine finish three minutes later from the edge of the box although he had a fingertip on the ball.
Chelsea's first real effort came in the 25th minute when Ben Chilwell outpaced Saka but his rasping shot was shoved away for corner by Aaron Ramsdale.
Leandro Trossard clipped the ball onto the hands of Fofana but VAR deemed it not a penalty for Mikel Arteta's team.
In the 28th minute Madueke wriggled his way into the Gunners' vital area but Trossard cleared the ball before he could find a teammate.
Odegaard grabbed his brace for the Gunners with 31 minutes played with a great piece of finishing. The Norwegian made a yard for himself after a well-taken pass inside the box and found the bottom right corner.
Gabriel Jesus made it 3-0 when he finished from close range from a rebound after the ball broke to him at minute 34.
Arsenal went close to making it 4-0 ias Gabriel's header was cleared off the line by Thiago Silva while Granit Xhaka's low shot was clawed away by Arrizabalaga.
Madueke however got a goal for Chelsea in the 65th minute as he pounced on a sloppy piece of defending by the north London side.
Struggling with a suspected calf complaint, Madueke was substituted in the 79th minute by Morocco international Hakim Ziyech.
