AC Milan midfielder issued a visa ahead of linking up with Flying Eagles squad in Argentina
Published: May 09, 2023
Allnigeriasoccer.com understands that AC Milan youth teamer Victor Eletu has moved a step closer to representing Nigeria at the 2023 World Cup after he was issued a visa in record time.
The Nigerian Federation confirmed yesterday that Eletu has been named in the Flying Eagles 21-man squad for the World Cup, and he's the only player yet to report for international duty.
Eletu picked up his visa on Monday, May 8, paving the way for him to link up with the Flying Eagles squad at their training camp in Argentina in the coming days.
The plan is for Eletu to hop on a plane bound for Buenos Aires as soon as a flight is available, subject to him being released to the Nigerian Federation by AC Milan.
The 2005-born player has been a key player for Milan's Primavera squad this season, playing 36 games in all competitions, 26 of which he started.
It was previously feared that Eletu was not going to be released for the World Cup due to the Rossoneri's precarious position in the Campionato Primavera 1, but they have made significant strides in their battle to avoid the drop.
Milan U19s have picked up ten points from an available twelve and sit five points above the red line with four games to play.
