Confirmed team news : Super Eagles winger will take no part in Chelsea v Nottingham Forest
Published: May 13, 2023
Speaking to reporters at his pre-match press conference before his side's visit to the English capital, Nottingham Forest manager Steve Cooper confirmed that Emmanuel Dennis will take no part in Saturday afternoon's clash against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge.
The 2017 FIFA U17 World Cup-winning manager with England revealed for the first time that the Super Eagles winger is recovering from a minor injury.
Dennis was not included in Nottingham Forest's matchday squad as the two-time European champions edged Southampton in a seven-goal thriller on May 8.
And it has come to light that the former Watford man suffered a training ground injury before the visit of the Saints.
Cooper did not go into too much detail regarding the nature of the injury suffered by Dennis and the likely date of his return to action.
"Dennis has been injured, I don't think I mentioned it. Before the last game he picked up a knock in training in preparation for Southampton so he's still not available," Cooper told reporters.
This season, Dennis has appeared in eighteen Premier League matches, six of which he started, and has been involved in four goals (2 goals, 2 assists).
