Udeze, Man Utd fan Ruggedman back PL sides to challenge UCL winners Man City
Published: June 11, 2023
Former Super Eagles defender Ifeanyi Udeze hopes other Premier League clubs would sign world-class players and be able to challenge champions, Manchester City for the titles in the 2023/2024 season.
City on Saturday night completed a treble in the current campaign by beating a strong Inter Milan side 1-0 to claim their first Champions League title.
While reacting to the Champions League win, Udeze said on Brila FM:
"I'm happy for Manchester City. They are clearly the best team in Europe. They worked hard for this achievement.
"I just hope that other teams will have better teams next season. Arsenal made it a contest.
"The league has to competitive. Borussia Dortmund almost won the Bundesliga before falling short. That's the kind of competition we want to see," Udeze opined while analyzing the game on Brila FM.
The Lagos sports radio station also had as guest, music sensation, Ruggedman, who is a Manchester United supporter.
Ruggedman in his submission hopes to see manager Erik ten Hag bring in quality players at the Old Trafford next season.
"Erik ten Hag has to bring in better players next season. I believe he knows what he is doing.
"How many United players can make the starting eleven in this City team, maybe not more than four players," the Afrobeat artiste added.
