Through their official website, English Premier League club Arsenal have announced their retained and released list following the end of the 2022-2023 campaign.
They have confirmed that thirteen players will be leaving the club upon the expiration of their contracts on June 30, 2023.
One of the players is 2023 Flying Eagles invitee, Joel Ideho whose stay at the club is set to come to an end.
Ideho, who is capable of playing anywhere across the front line, joined Arsenal from Dutch Eredivisie giants, Ajax Amsterdam in 2020 and featured for their U18s and developmental squad.
He was invited to train with the Flying Eagles before the 2023 Africa U20 Cup of Nations and the Fifa U20 World Cup but was not included in the final squad for the tournaments in Egypt and Argentina respectively.
Another Nigeria-eligible player released by the north London side is 19-year-old center back, Zach Awe who joined the Gunners at U8 level.
Ideho and Awe are leaving Arsenal without making their senior debuts but they were invited to train with the first team on countless occasions.
The other eleven players released are George Lewis, Ainsley Maitland-Niles, Matt Smith, Tom Smith, Kaleel Green, Alexandar Kovacevic, Tino Quamina, Mathaeus Roberts, Mana Iwabuchi, Rafaelle Souza and Fran Stenson.
