Tottenham Hotspur interested in Fulham defender of Nigerian descent
Published: June 16, 2023
Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly considering a swoop for former England youth international of Nigerian descent Tosin Adarabioyo.
According to Sky Sports, the Fulham star is among the potential centre-back targets being considered by Tottenham, but the north London club are mulling over whether to firm up their interest in the Anglo-Nigerian player.
Tottenham Hotspur are preparing for the possible departure of Colombian defender, Davinson Sanchez, who wants to leave the club having fallen down the pecking order last season and is considered surplus to requirements.
This has necessitated the need for a new centre back and Spurs have identified Tosin as a possible replacement for Sanchez.
The Manchester City-reared defender had to contend with Issa Diop and Tim Ream for a spot in the Fulham starting XI last season but still featured in 25 Premier League games, 23 of which he started
Tosin has one year left on his contract with Fulham and talks about an extension have collapsed.
The Cottagers could be forced to sell Tosin in this transfer window or risk losing him for nothing in a year's time.
Despite having one year left on his contract, Fulham should get a decent fee for Tosin if the defender is sold in the summer as he is classed as a homegrown player.
