Official: Tottenham Hotspur youth product Obika joins Motherwell on full deal
Published: June 19, 2023
Through their official website, Scottish Premiership side Motherwell have announced the signing of Tottenham Hotspur-reared striker Jonathan Obika on a full deal.
Obika joined Motherwell initially on a loan deal in the January transfer window and went on to make ten appearances for the Steelmen, scoring one goal.
The experienced attacker has put pen to paper on a one-year contract with Motherwell subject to international clearance, with an option of a further year.
He missed seven league games at the back end of last season due to a hamstring issue but was involved in their last three matches having recovered from injury.
Obika is joining Motherwell as a free agent, with his contract at Morecambe set to expire at the end of this month.
The 32-year-old lists Swindon Town, Oxford United and St Mirren among his previous clubs.
He took in loan spells at Yeovil Town, Millwall, Crystal Palace, Peterborough United, Swindon Town, Charlton Athletic and Brighton & Hove Albion during his time at Tottenham Hotspur, where he spent eight years.
Obika made four appearances for Tottenham Hotspur's first team before moving on to pastures new in 2014.
