2019 Flying Eagles invitee off to Turkey for transfer talks after rejecting Owls' contract offer
Published: June 20, 2023
2019 Flying Eagles invitee Fisayo Dele-Bashiru is inching closer to a departure from Sheffield Wednesday with just ten days left on his contract with the Championship newcomers.
The Owls were hoping to re-engage the Manchester City academy product for next season and offered him a new deal, only for him to turn down the proposal.
Previously, it was claimed that Serie A giants AC Milan and Dutch Eredivisie side PSV Eindhoven were interested in adding Dele-Bashiru to their squad, but it is looking likely that the Super Lig is his next destination.
According to Sky Sports, Dele-Bashiru is close to agreeing personal terms with Hatayspor and is expected to fly to Turkey on Wednesday for transfer talks.
Another Turkish Super Lig outfit in the form of Antalyaspor are lagging behind in the race to sign the 22-year-old.
Throughout his professional career, Fisayo Dele-Bashiru has made 86 appearances, with all the matches coming in the colours of Sheffield Wednesday, and he was on target six times.
He arrived at Sheffield Wednesday in 2020 after spending eleven years at Manchester City.
