Nottingham Forest's Super Eagles winger not contemplating a move to the Saudi Pro League
Published: June 23, 2023
Super Eagles winger Emmanuel Dennis is looking likely to leave Premier League side Nottingham Forest in the summer transfer window, according to reports.
Dennis joined Nottingham Forest from Watford last summer, signing a four-year deal that is supposed to keep him at the City Ground until June 30, 2026 if the two parties honour the agreement.
The Athletic UK (subscription required) says Nottingham Forest have not yet received an offer for the Nigerian but representatives of the 25-year-old have started the process of holding exploratory talks with potential interested parties.
Dennis has ruled out a move to the Saudi Professional League as he is keen on remaining in Europe at this stage of his career.
The former Club Brugge man arrived at Nottingham Forest with a reputation as a player who can make things happen in the opposition box having directly participated in sixteen goals (10 goals, 6 assists) in 33 Premier League outings for Watford in 2021-2022.
However, he didn't live up to his own high standards last term with a goal involvement of five (2 goals, 3 assists) in twenty five matches for the two-time European champions.
Statistically speaking, Reds boss Steve Cooper does not seem to be a fan of Dennis given that he started him in only nine games from a possible forty four in all competitions last season.
