Rangers could miss out on sell-on clause for Super Eagles player wanted by Fulham

Scottish Premiership giants Glasgow Rangers could miss out on a windfall from the potential sale of Nigeria international Calvin Bassey to Premier League club Fulham.
The Leicester City academy product became the most expensive Nigerian defender in history with his move to Ajax Amsterdam last summer for a guaranteed fee of twenty three million euros.
With the inclusion of performance-related add-ons, the transfer fee could rise to 26.5 million euros.
According to The Daily Record, Rangers included a ten percent sell-on clause into the deal taking Bassey to Ajax Amsterdam but it would only be activated if the central defender was sold for more than €23 million.
Rangers will not receive any rmoney as things stand, with Fulham making an offer of seventeen million euros to sign the 23-year-old.
Fulham are targeting a swoop for the Super Eagles star as a possible replacement for Tosin Adarabioyo who is heavily linked with a departure from Craven Cottage this summer.
Bassey is reportedly not eager to leave Ajax this summer because he feels he has unfinished business in the Netherlands and would only think about a departure if the Amsterdam club inform him that he's surplus to requirements.
Bassey has four years left on his contract with Ajax Amsterdam.
