Manchester City's Flying Eagles-eligible winger wanted by AZ Alkmaar and Westerlo
Published: July 24, 2023Dutch Eredivisie outfit AZ Alkmaar and Jupiler Pro League side Westerlo are set to battle it out for the signature of Manchester City's Flying Eagles-eligible winger Adedire Mebude.
As reported by Fabrizio Romano on his Twitter page on Monday evening, Az Alkmaar and Westerlo have submitted separate bids for the Scotland underage international of Nigerian descent.
Romano in his report added that Manchester City will decide in the coming days regarding the offers of the aforementioned clubs for their young forward.
It is also expected that the Citizens in their customary ways for young talents will include a buy-back clause in the agreement with any of the two clubs should they decide to sell.
Mebude was in sensational form for Manchester City's development side last season and played a vital role in their Premier League 2 triumph.
The 19-year-old posted 11 goals and thirteen assists in 26 appearances for the young citizens in the Premier League 2.
He got nominated for the Premier League 2 Player of the Season award but was beaten to it by his teammate Carlos Borges.
