Insider insists Arsenal are unlikely to make a move for Chelsea, Man City target Olise

Arsenal insider Charles Watts has insisted that Arsenal are unlikely to make a move for 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise amid speculation linking him with a transfer to the Emirates Stadium in the summer transfer window.
Looking to bolster their options on the flanks, both Manchester City and Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for the talented Crystal Palace youngster.
The Blues are considering making a bid for Olise, with the futures of Callum Hudson-Odoi and Hakim Ziyech up in the air, while the Citizens are targeting him as a possible replacement for Algeria star Riyad Mahrez, who has moved on to pastures new after nine and a half years in England.
Olise has a release clause of £35 million inserted into his contract with Crystal Palace, a fee that would pose no problem for Chelsea and Manchester City.
Should the French-Nigerian winger move to Arsenal, Watts reckons that the likes of Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli and Martin Odegaard would be ahead of him in manager Mikel Arteta's pecking order.
Reacting to Arsenal's links with Olise, Watts told TeamTalk: "He needs to be playing week in week out. I’m not sure if he can play on the left. He’s not going to play ahead of [Gabriel] Martinelli.
"He’s definitely not going to play ahead of Saka on the right. He could maybe play as a 10 but then you’ve got [Martin] Odegaard there, he (Olise) is not going to play.”
Olise will miss the start of the 2023-2024 season as he is still recovering from a hamstring injury he suffered during the 2023 European U21 Championship.
