Tottenham Hotspur contact Gent about the possibility of signing N26b-rated Nigerian striker
Published: August 08, 2023
English Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur have set the ball rolling in their bid to sign Nigerian marksman Gift Orban.
The 21-year-old is being lined up by Tottenham as a potential replacement for Harry Kane who is being courted by Bayern Munich.
The north London club rejected Bayern's third bid for the England superstar and it remains to be seen whether the Bavarians will submit another bid.
According to transfer market reporter Sacha Tavolieri, Tottenham are in contact with Gent for Gift Orban and could go as high as €30 million including bonuses (approximately N26 billion in Nigerian currency) to sign the Nigerian.
Tottenham Hotspur manager Ange Postecoglou.has given the green light to the transfer but it hinges on whether Bayern Munich are able to strike a deal with The Lilywhites for Harry Kane
Orban took Europe by storm last season when he continuously found the back of the net for Gent in the Jupiler Pro League and the UEFA Europa Conference League.
And he has picked up where he left off last season by registering two goals in two games in the new campaign.
Orban has been an unused substitute in Gent's last two games which has sparked speculation regarding his future.
