'We'll see what happens' - Flying Eagles-eligible striker not ruling out loan move from Arsenal
Published: August 12, 2023
Flying Eagles-eligible striker Nathan Butler-Oyedeji is not ruling out a loan move away from Arsenal before the end of the transfer window.
The 20-year-old is yet to taste first-team football at Arsenal despite making the matchday squad on two occasions last season.
It was during his loan spell with Accrington Stanley that he got his first taste of first-team football in the English League Football League One in the second half of last season.
There is no indication that he is in the plans of Arsenal first team manager Mikel Arteta for this season but he is still very much involved in the club's development side.
He bagged the second goal in Arsenal's U21s 3-0 win over West Ham United in the Premier League 2 on Friday.
The Anglo-Nigerian forward has made it clear that he wants to keep getting playing time at the north London club or elsewhere.
"On a personal level, we'll see what happens. I just want to get playing, whether that's still here or going on loan.
"I just want to play my football and be happy," Butler-Oyedeji said to Arsenal Media when asked about his ambitions for the new season.
Butler-Oyedeji has been linked with loan moves to English Football League clubs and the Scottish Premiership.
