Monaco emerge as suitors for Tottenham Hotspur CB after struggling to sign Tosin
Published: August 17, 2023
French Ligue 1 club Monaco are reportedly eyeing a move for Tottenham Hotspur central defender Davinson Sanchez after struggling to sign Fulham's Nigerian star Tosin Adarabioyo.
The Principality club saw their latest bid of ten million euros rejected, with the Cottagers holding firm in their decision to strike a deal with Premier League rivals Tottenham Hotspur.
With a proposed move for Tosin hitting some difficulties, Monaco are considering making an offer for Sanchez who is surplus to requirements at Tottenham Hotspur, according to French sports daily L'Equipe.
The Colombian has also attracted interest from Spartak Moscow and Galatasaray, while Strasbourg are monitoring his situation.
After the capture of Ghana international Mohammed Salisu from Southampton, Monaco are in the market for another centre-back and have been pushing to sign Tosin without success.
Tosin prefers a move to Monaco and has made it clear he cannot be forced to join Tottenham against his wishes.
Despite having one year left on his contract, Fulham should get a decent fee for Tosin if the defender is sold to a Premier League club in the summer as he is classed as a homegrown player.
The Manchester City academy product played 25 games in the Premier League last season but was not called up for Fulham's season opener at Everton amid speculation surrounding his future.
