Wycombe Wanderers on brink of deal for 2014 Olympic National Team invitee
Published: August 31, 2023
Uche Ikpeazu's search for a new club is over with Sky Sports reporting that the 2014 Nigeria's Olympic National Team invitee is having a medical at League One club Wycombe Wanderers on Thursday ahead of a transfer.
The attacker is currently unemployed after mutually terminating his contract with Turkish outfit Konyaspor.
Barring unforeseen circumstances, Ikpeazu will return to Wycombe Wanderers for a second spell having represented them in the 2020-2021 season.
In his first stint at the Chairboys, the Reading academy product logged 33 appearances in all competitions, scoring 6 goals while producing five assists.
Ikpeazu has totaled 72 appearances in the League One for four different clubs, namely Crewe Alexandra, Doncaster Rovers, Port Vale and Blackpool, registering 11 goals and 7 assists.
Apart from the aforementioned clubs, the 28-year-old also counts Watford, Cambridge United, Heart of Midlothian, Middlesbrough and Cardiff City among his previous employers.
Wycombe Wanderers have struggled for goals in the new season with five in five games in the League One, and are aiming to solve their goalscoring problem with the acquisition of Ikpeazu.
