Chelsea retain interest in Norwegian-Nigerian winger after seeing N25.2b rejected on deadline day
Published: September 07, 2023
Chelsea still have an eye on signing Club Brugge's Super Eagles-eligible player Antonio Nusa.
This is according to Fabrizio Romano who revealed that the London-based club are monitoring the Norwegian-Nigerian winger as he is considered a top talent.
The Italian transfer expert added that Chelsea's scouts will keep tracking the progress of the talented winger.
Chelsea attempted to acquire his signature in the just concluded transfer window but had their 30 million euros (approximately N25.2 billion in Nigerian currency) bid turned down on deadline day.
The two-time European champions have been investing in youngsters since the BlueCo consortium took over the club last year and Nusa is one of the youngsters next on their radar.
The 18-year-old has proved he is ready to play at the top level, making 59 appearances combined for Club Brugge and Stabæk Fotball.
He has played in four games in the Jupiler Pro League this season and has registered 2 goal contributions.
He received a call-up from the Norwegian national coach Ståle Solbakken for their friendly match against Jordan and the 2024 European qualification match against Georgia.
The left winger made his senior debut against Jordan on Thursday and bagged his first international goal in the encounter.
