League-high 15 attempts on goal: Bayer marksman Boniface nominated again for Bundesliga award
Published: November 06, 2023Victor Boniface has been nominated for the Bundesliga Rookie of the Month for the third consecutive time as he was shortlisted for the award for October.
While he wasn't in his prolific goalscoring form last month, the 22-year-old recorded one goal and an assist and only failed to register a goal involvement in one game.
The Super Eagles forward also recorded 15 shots on goal which was the most in the division for October and unsurprisingly is the player with the most shots since the start of the Bundesliga.
Boniface is set to battle Germany U21 international Brajan Gruda who recorded 2 goal contributions for Main 05 and RB Leipzig midfielder Xavi Simons who registered 2 assists.
The three-cap Nigeria international won the first two Rookie of the Month this season, having scooped that of August and September and is now aiming to win the award for the third consecutive time.
In total, he has managed 7 goals and five assists for Bayer Leverkusen in 10 Bundesliga appearances this season.
To cap off his October, Boniface forced an own goal in Nigeria's 2-2 draw with Saudi Arabia, before featuring in another friendly with Mozambique.
