Tottenham forward beats 2023 Flying Eagles invitee Ola-Adebomi to PL2 Player of the Month
Published: November 10, 20232023 Flying Eagles invitee Ademola Ola-Adebomi has missed out on the Premier League 2 Player of the Month for October, with the Premier League announcing on Friday that Tottenham Hotspur forward Jamie Donley has won the award.
Jamie Donley netted a brace against Chelsea and provided an assist in a 4-2 win at Sunderland in October.
Ola-Adebomi had been nominated for the award alongside Donley, Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Yago Santiago, Wolverhampton Wanderers' Tawanda Chirewa, Lewis Koumas and Mateusz Musialowski of Liverpool, West Ham's Callum Marshall and Reading’s Charlie Wellens.
The Premier League Football Development Panel has selected Donley as the winner of the monthly accolade.
Last month, Ola-Adebomi scored three goals in two appearances in the Premier League 2 - the opener in the 4-2 loss to Liverpool and a brace in a home win versus West Brom.
Ola-Adebomi started November on fire, bagging a hat-trick as Palace U21s defeated Leeds United 7-1 in the Premier League 2, taking his tally to nine goals for the development squad this term.
If he keeps his good form, a first team debut is inevitable before the end of the 2023-2024 season.
The 20-year-old was called up for the Premier League games against Manchester United and Nottingham Forest but was not utilized off the bench by manager Roy Hodgson.
