Musa hat-trick helps Manchester United to eighth consecutive win in U18 Premier League
Published: November 11, 2023
Spanish-born Nigerian striker Victor Musa stole the show as Manchester United registered their eighth consecutive win in this season's U18 Premier League on Saturday, beating Blackburn Rovers 3-0 in Lancashire.
Manchester United broke the deadlock inside two minutes through Musa, who dusted himself down and converted the penalty he had won.
His second goal did not arrive until the 72nd minute when he rounded the Backburn Rovers goalkeeper before slotting home from an acute angle.
Six minutes later, Musa found the back of the net again with another clinical finish from close range to complete his hat-trick.
This is the first time the Golden Eaglets-eligible center forward has scored a hat-trick for Manchester United youth teams in a competitive game.
Musa has now netted 11 goals in 27 appearances in the U18 Premier League since making his debut in the division against Nottingham Forest in August 2022.
The 17-year-old, who is now eligible to sign his first professional contract having started the season as a first-year scholar, has played in three games in the UEFA Youth League.
