Chelsea to rival Tottenham and Liverpool for the signature of Danish-Nigerian defender
Published: November 24, 2023
Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea have entered the race to sign Super Eagles-eligible left-back Patrick Dorgu.
According to TEAMtalk, the North London sides are interested in signing the talented full-back who is also on the radar of Liverpool.
Dorgu has been one of the breakout stars in the Serie A this season , featuring in 12 games for Lecce, only four of which have been as a starter.
His performances caught the attention of Liverpool and Barcelona who were the first sides to be linked with him.
The competition for the signing of the Danish-born defender is now set to heat up with Tottenham and Chelsea throwing their hat in the ring for his signature.
The Blues could have an advantage in the race to sign the fullback as he had previously expressed his likeness for the club
Lecce have ruled out the possibility of selling Dorgu in January which means interested suitors will have to wait till the summer to get him off the books of the Italian club.
The 19-year-old current contract with the Serie A side expires in 2027 which means he won't be sold cheaply.
He has made 14 appearances across all competitions this season.
