Madueke to consider his future at Chelsea in the January transfer window
Published: November 28, 2023
England U21 international of Nigerian descent Noni Madueke will consider his future at Chelsea when the transfer window reopens for business.
The Telegraph has reported that Chelsea are looking to bolster their squad with two or three new signings in January and to prevent the squad from being bloated, the same number of players have to leave.
Two players tipped for potential moves away from Stamford Bridge are Madueke and another attack-minded player Armando Broja.
The winger initially struggled for game time in the second half of last season following his transfer from PSV Eindhoven but broke into the starting lineup with the appointment of Frank Lampard as coach on a caretaker basis.
In the ongoing season, Madueke has failed to win back a starting berth after recovering from an injury that saw him miss a large chunk of pre-season preparations.
His game time has been limited under manager Mauricio Pochettino, with the 21-year-old logging a paltry 119 minutes from a possible 1,170 in the Premier League.
If his situation does not change in the coming weeks, he is likely to consider leaving Chelsea in search of regular first team football in January.
Madueke signed a seven-and-a-half-year contract with Chelsea in January, with a club option to extend for a further year.
