Super Eagles captain Ahmed Musa opened his goalscoring account for Sivasspor in their 2-1 victory over Arnavutköy Belediyespor in the 4th round of the Turkish Cup played at New Sivas 4 Eylül Stadium on Thursday. 

 

The 31-year-old slotted home the Sivasspor's second goal of the game in the 25th minute after Hakan Arslan put them ahead from the penalty spot in the 19th minute.

 

Making his 28th appearance for Sivasspor, Musa blasted the ball into the roof of the net to double the advantage. 


Also on target was Super Eagles-eligible forward Emmanuel Emegha who scored a last-minute equaliser to help Strasbourg salvage a 1-1 away draw with Brest in a rescheduled Ligue 1 fixture.


Aided by a cross from Moise Sahi Dion, Emegha nodded the ball into the net in the 80th minute after Jeremy Le Douaron gave Brest the lead late into the first half.


Having scored just one goal in his first 8 appearances, the 20-year-old striker has now netted 2 goals in his last three games in the French top-flight


The 20-year-old has now scored 3 goals in the French top-flight this season.

 

Elsewhere, 2023 Fifa U20 World Cup star Umeh Emmanuel continued his rich vein of form by finding the net for Botev Plovdiv in their 4-2 road win over Etar VT in the round of 16 of the Bulgarian Cup.

 

As the game edged towards ninety minutes, Umeh could not miss from very, very close range after the ball was put on a plate for him in the box. 

 

Teenage winger Samuel Akere closed the scoring in the fourth minute of stoppage time when he finished off a counter attack. 

 

Umeh and Akere have netted five goals apiece in their last eight appearances in all competitions for Botev Plovdiv.
