'The Premier League is a dream' - AC Milan target Adams speaks on reports linking him to West Ham
Published: December 20, 2023
Montpellier forward Akor Adams has reacted to speculation in the media linking him with a transfer to West Ham United in the January transfer window.
The Hammers are reportedly considering signing a new striker next month and have put the former Nigeria U20 international on their transfer shortlist but the proposed move hinges on whether Michail Antonio can recover from the injury he has been dealing with since the end of the international break in November.
Adams had a blistering start to his career in France with seven goals in his first nine matches but his form has faded of late with no goals in seven consecutive appearances in the Ligue 1.
The 23-year-old is also a target for nineteen-time Italian champions AC Milan to bolster the attack in January.
Adams has hinted that his favored option would be a move to the Premier League and spoke on the possibility of linking up with Samuel Chukwueze at the Rossoneri.
"To tell the truth, I haven't thought about it and I don't know anything [about West Ham's interest]. We're in the current season, my mind is on Montpellier but for all children the Premier League is a dream," Adams told Milan News.
He continued: "If I join Chukwueze at Milan? It's too early to talk about it, but Chuk is a very good player and everyone knows that Milan is one of the best clubs in the world.
"For now I can't say anything but all football fans know that Milan is a top club and also I am aware of it. But to date I have never been to Italy yet."
Former Lillestrom star Adams has a contract with Montpellier until June 30, 2027.
