Transfer market and football statistics website Transfermarkt has updated the market values of players in the English Premier League, with Destiny Udogie getting an upgrade.
A week after committing his future to Tottenham Hotspur by signing a new multi-year contract valid until June 30, 2030, the Italy international of Nigerian descent has reached a career-high market value of 40 million euros (approximately N36 billion in Nigerian currency).
Before Tuesday's update, Udogie's highest market value was the €38m he was valued at on October 9, 2023.
The left-back cost Tottenham €18m when he was acquired from Udinese in August 2022 but has seen his stock rise exponentially after a brilliant start to his career with the north London club.
One of the first names on manager Ange Postecoglou's team sheet, Udogie has started fifteen of the seventeen games contested by the Lilywhites in this season's Premier League, missing the games against Crystal Palace and Wolverhampton Wanderers due to injury and suspension respectively.
On the international stage, he made his senior debut for his country of birth, Italy in a 2024 European Championship qualifier against Malta on October 14, before earning his second cap in another competitive game against England three days later.
Udogie is the eighth most valuable player in the Tottenham Hotspur squad, 73rd when it comes to Premier League players and ranked seventh among all players born in 2002 and classed as left-backs.
