Published: December 20, 2023
Ahead of the start of a training camp for the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, three Super Eagles players named in the provisional squad were on target to help their clubs register wins in league matches played in Europe on Wednesday, December 20.
Starting in France, Terem Moffi scored two goals in OGC Nice's 2-0 win over Lens in a Ligue 1 encounter played at the Allianz Riviera.
The Super Eagles forward who started the game on the bench got his first goal from the penalty spot in the 76th minute.
Two minutes later he got his brace when he headed the ball into an empty net from Jérémie Boga's pass.
The 24-year-old missed Nice's last game due to an injury but was able to shake it off to feature in tonight's encounter.
Today's goals have taken his tally to 6 for the season in 16 Ligue 1 appearances.
Elsewhere, Victor Boniface continued his impressive run of form as he got a goal in Bayer Leverkusen's 4-0 victory over VfL Bochum in the Black and Reds' last Bundesliga game of the year.
Having watched on from the bench in the first half, the Nigerian striker wrapped up the scoring two minutes after his introduction, lashing the ball past the Bochum goalkeeper after her was teed up by Florian Wirtz.in the 69th minute.
He has now scored 10 goals in the Bundesliga and also has seven assists to his name.
Last but not least, Cyriel Dessers opened the scoring as Rangers beat St.Johnstone 2-0 at the Ibrox Stadium.
He got his name on the scoresheet in the 28th minute when he put the ball home from James Tavernier's cross to register his ninth goal in all competitions.
Dessers is beginning to show his qualities as a top striker with four goals in the last five games in the Scottish top-flight.
