Italian giants AC Milan have reached an agreement with the Nigeria Football Federation that would see Samuel Chukwueze delay his arrival to the Super Eagles' pre-Africa Cup of Nations training camp.
The Nigerian Federation informed the twenty-five players named on the final roster for the Africa Cup of Nations to depart from their different bases on Tuesday, 2nd January to fly into Abu Dhabi, capital city of the United Arab Emirates, for a one-week training camp that will last until Tuesday, 9th January.
According to celebrated Italian sports daily La Gazzetta dello Sport (subscription required), Samuel Chukwueze would be available for the Coppa Italia match between the Rossoneri and Cagliari scheduled to hold at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza on Tuesday night.
AC Milan did not reach an agreement with the Algerian Federation to delay the arrival of Ismaël Bennacer who is expected to fly to Algeria today to begin preparations for the tournament.
Chukwueze will continue training with his AC Milan teammates and should be in contention to make his nineteenth appearance in all competitions this season against Claudio Ranieri's team.
The 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup winner is one of the eight players classed as forwards manager Jose Peseiro has picked in his final AFCON squad.
With the exception of dead rubber games against Madagascar and Guinea-Bissau, Chukwueze has been involved in every single game contested by the Super Eagles since the 2019 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations and has two goals to his name.
