Teammate reveals history-maker Ethan Nwaneri was at Chelsea before joining Arsenal

Talented Arsenal central midfielder Myles Lewis-Skelly has revealed that his teammate Ethan Nwaneri was at Chelsea before he joined Arsenal.
The England U17 international of Nigerian descent etched his name into the Premier League's history books by becoming the youngest ever player to feature in the top-flight of English football when he made his senior debut against Brentford on Sunday, September 18, 2022, aged 15 years and 181 days.
Nwaneri was heavily linked with a departure from Arsenal in the off season but ended speculation about his future after he signed a scholarship deal with the north London club and he will go professional as from March 21 when he turns 17.
Chelsea were among the glamorous teams pushing hard to secure the signature of the attacking midfielder before he committed his future to Arsenal.
Lewis-Skelly has explained how he knew Nwaneri before their paths crossed again at Arsenal's Hale End Academy.
"I first joined the academy at under-9s level, after I had trialed at Chelsea and Tottenham Hotspur," he told Arsenal's official website.
Lewis-Skelly added: "Before I joined Arsenal, I knew Ethan Nwaneri because we were at Chelsea together and we’ve kind of gone up the ranks together.
"I’ve definitely become close to Josh Nichols as well since I joined the club."
Nwaneri received his second call-up for a Premier League game against West Ham United but was a non-playing substitute, and trained with the first team before recent matches against Liverpool and Fulham.
