Transfer insider confirms Tottenham have enquired about red-hot Anglo-Nigerian striker

Transfer insider Ben Jacobs has confirmed that Tottenham have enquired about the availability of Bournemouth forward Dominic Solanke but also suggested that any move for him will be in the summer.

The north London side let go of club legend Harry Kane in the summer which left a vacuum in the central forward position but they have been able to cope without him with Son Heung-Min and lately, Richarlison delivering the goods.

However, the club  still want to bolster the depth of the attacking department, and thus the reason why they have been linked with Solanke.

The 26-year-old has been one of the revelations of the season in the Premier League, boasting the joint second-best goalscoring tally in the division with 12 goals, and has become a subject of interest of not only Spurs but also Chelsea and Arsenal.

Jacobs has revealed that Tottenham have inquired about the availability of the Anglo-Nigerian striker but reckoned that they would move for him in the summer.

"When you get to the summer, it might be if they've succeeded in that [signing a centre-back], then the priorities change," Jacobs told Last Word On Spurs via Teamtalk.

"But I think the summer will be a bit more specific, I think they will want a Dominic Solanke type profile, or they want to enter the race for an Ivan Toney should he become available.

"But I'm not saying they are concrete Spurs targets, although Solanke has certainly been enquired about."

Ange Postecoglou's side are said to be prioritizing a move for a center-back in this transfer window with Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero out injured.

They have been previously linked with Super Eagles-eligible center-back Tosin Adarabioyo but appear to have shifted their focus to Genoa defender Radu Dragusin.
