Ajax striker Akpom confirms interest from English clubs amid links with Crystal Palace, Fulham, Everton

Ajax Amsterdam striker Chuba Akpom has confirmed that he is attracting interest from English clubs as well as France in the January transfer window.
Everton, Crystal Palace and Fulham are among the Premier League clubs credited with an interest in signing the Hale End Academy product this month, and he is also drawing interest from Ligue 1 outfit Lille.
Akpom's agent has close links with the aforementioned Premier League clubs having brokered the deals that took Alex Iwobi, Malcolm Ebiowei and Ola Aina to the Toffees, Eagles and Cottagers respectively.
The Championship top scorer for 2022-2023 struggled in his first two months at Ajax after his summer transfer from Middlesbrough but has been enjoying a new lease of life with the exit of Maurice Steijn who was dismissed following a poor start to the season.
In ten outings with new boss John van 't Schip in the Ajax dugout, Akpom has mustered an impressive nine goals.
However, the Super Eagles hopeful is not guaranteed a spot in the starting lineup with Brian Brobbey ahead of him in the pecking order of strikers, which has seen him start only five games from a possible twenty-four in all competitions.
Commenting on his future, Akpom said to Voetbal International : "I just hope to stay. There is interest from France, from England, but I really feel that this can still be a success story for me at Ajax.
"I just have to go play. Everything I've done so far has been in a limited time.
"Imagine if I were to play everything, I feel like I could really have a successful time here."
Akpom joined Ajax for a fee of €12.3 million and the amount can increase to €14.3 million through performance-related add-ons.
