Confirmed: Luton Town recall Lagos-born winger from his loan spell
Published: January 11, 2024
With a statement on their official website, Premier League side Luton Town have confirmed that Lagos-born winger Fred Onyedinma has been recalled from his loan spell at Championship outfit Rohterham United.
Onyedinma was the Millers fifth signing of the summer transfer window and the initial agreement between the two clubs would have kept the Nigerian at the AESSEAL New York Stadium until the end of the 2023-2024 season.
Rotherham United and Luton Town have mutually agreed to end his season-long loan spell before the expiration of the deal.
Onyedinma departs Rotherham United after playing in nineteen matches across all competitions but has missed their last nine matches in the Championship after suffering an injury in the warm-up at Hull City.
The 27-year-old had a fine start to the season at Rotherham United, netting two goals in his first three league appearances.
Since joining Luton Town in 2021, he has played 52 games across two seasons and was involved in ten goals.
A product of the Millwall academy, Onyedinma also counts Wycombe Wanderers among his previous clubs.
