Arsenal ready to continue push for Dutch-Nigerian striker despite Bologna stance

Arsenal are said to be ready to continue their push for the signing of Super Eagles-eligible striker Joshua Zirkzee despite Bologna's stance that he is not for sale.
According to TEAMtalk, reports in Italy have suggested that Arsenal are ready to test the resolve of Bologna by offering a premium fee for the young forward.
The Netherlands U21 international has a release clause of €40m which can only be triggered by Bayern Munich but it has been claimed that the Gunners can secure his signing if they pay an extra €17.5m.
While Bologna are reluctant to sell their star striker, a huge offer could convince them to part ways with the Dutch Nigerian forward.
With Ivan Toney, Victor Osimhen, and other linked targets highly unattainable this month, the north London side have shifted their attention towards signing Zirkzee.
Arsenal appear to be desperate to sign a central forward this window to salvage their Premier League title bid having suffered a dip in form in recent weeks.
Mikel Arteta's side sit 5 points adrift of table toppers Liverpool at the moment and could find themselves outside the top four if Tottenham beat Manchester United on Sunday though will have a game in hand.
