Ghana's all-time top scorer reveals what impressed him the most about Osimhen in Nigeria's win v Cameroon
Published: January 28, 2024Ghana's all-time top scorer WITH 51 goals in 109 appearances, Asamoah Gyan has revealed what impressed him the most about the performance of Victor Osimhen in the Super Eagles' 2-0 victory over Cameroon in the round of 16 of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations played on Saturday night.
The Napoli star worked his socks off yet again as he played a vital role in ensuring Nigeria triumph over their fierce rival and wasn't taken off by José Peseiro until the dying embers of the game.
While Ademola Lookman grabbed the headlines for his brace, it was Osimhen who terrified the Indomitable Lions' defense the most with his incessant pressing and finished the game with the most fouls won.
It was the lanky striker pressing that led to the first goal when he bullied Oumar Gonzalez off the ball before squaring it into the path of Lookman.
Reacting after the game on X, Gyan has revealed what impressed him the most in the performance of the reigning CAF Men's Player of the Year.
"Osimhen plays with passion. That's what every country wants their players to do."
The Nigerian striker has recorded 1 goal and one assist in the competition so far and will be seeking to add to his tally when the Super Eagles clash with Angola in the quarterfinal on Friday.
