Nigeria booked their place in the quarterfinals of the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations after a comfortable 2-0 win over Cameroon on Saturday night, with Atalanta striker Ademola Lookman at the double.

Attack-minded player Ademola Lookman showed the other side of his game by committing a joint game-high five fouls. He was the dirtiest player on parade along with Cameroon duo Frank Magri and Christopher Wooh. 

 

Nigeria's two-goal hero also registered the most key passes (2), an honour he shared with Moumi Ngamaleu, and played the most shots (3) with two ending up in the back of the net.

 

William Troost-Ekong's seven aerial duels won was a game-high figure, followed by Victor Osimhen (5), Calvin Bassey (4) and Semi Ajayi(4). 

 

The Napoli superstar was targeted by the Cameroonian defenders, winning a game-high six fouls., 

 

When it came to tackles, Calvin Bassey was the top player with four, level with Cameroon's Oumar Gonzalez. 

 

There was a three-way tie for the player with the most dribbles : Bassey Frank Anguissa and Moumi Ngamaleu with two each.

 

Bassey continues to see the ball often at the AFCON with the no-nonsense central defender registering a team-high most touches for the third consecutive match.
