George scores one, assists two as Chelsea U18s beat Ajayi's Tottenham Hotspur
Published: February 17, 2024
Flying Eagles-eligible winger Tyrique George was in stellar form yet again for Chelsea U18s as they beat London rivals Tottenham 4-1 in the U18 Premier League on Saturday afternoon.
The Anglo-Nigerian was involved in the opener, winning the ball back before passing to Frankie Runham whose deflected effort gave the young Blues the lead.
Reiss-Alexander Russell-Denny doubled the lead in the 38th minute with a fine finish, assisted by Josh-Kofi Acheampong who did a brilliant job to create the goal.
Hassan Sulaiman's side will take the two-goal cushion into the end of the first half and it didn't take long before they added to their tally after the restart.
Two minutes into the second half, George found himself unmarked in the penalty box and he slotted the ball precisely into the back of the net.
The 18-year-old will become the provider yet again for Chelsea's fourth goal of the afternoon, putting a precise cross for Josh Acheampong who headed the ball home.
Another Nigeria-eligible forward, Damola Ajayi scored the consolation goal for the home side in the 71st minute.
George has now scored 6 goals in the U18 Premier League and he has also contributed four assists in just 7 games.
