Chelsea's Nigeria-eligible winger scores his first goal for England at U18 level while sporting new kit

Nigeria-eligible winger Tyrique George continued his red-hot form as England U18s defeated Czechia on Wednesday afternoon.

The Chelsea youth team dazzler has been named in the Young Lions squad for the U18 Super Cup at the Pinatar Arena in Murcia on the back of his outstanding performances for the Blues youth teams in 2023-2024.

George has netted ten goals across 22 games in the U18 Premier League, Premier League 2 and FA Youth Cup this season and has produced five assists.

Well known for scoring spectacular goals, George has been nominated for Chelsea's Goal of the Month for five consecutive months though he missed out on the awards.

According to the official website of England's national teams, the new 2024 England kit made its first appearance in an international game during the England versus Czechia friendly.

Young Lions boss Tom Curtis named George in the starting lineup and he was in action for around an hour before making way for Jayden Meghoma.

Sammy Amo-Ameyaw opened the scoring in the 17th minute and George netted his first goal at U18 level when he confidently found the net after an impressive solo run in the 35th minute.

George's strike against Czechia wasn't his first in England colours as he has also netted for the U16s.

Another player of Nigerian descent, Aston Villa's Jamaldeen Jimoh entered the game as a substitute with half an hour left.
