Premier League club make enquiry about signing Bayer Leverkusen striker Boniface
Published: March 26, 2024
German Bundesliga transfer expert Florian Plettenberg has given an important update on the future of Bayer Leverkusen and Super Eagles forward Victor Boniface.
According to Plettenberg, the Nigeria international has admirers in England and an unknown Premier League club has made a verbal enquiry about his availability.
However, Bayer Leverkusen are reluctant about selling their star striker but could sell if an offer worth more than 55 million euros is made by any interested club.
The interest from the Premier League comes as no surprise as he has been linked with Chelsea as an alternative to Victor Osimhen as well as table toppers Arsenal.
Boniface moved to the BayArena last summer and has settled at the club like a duck in the water, playing a pivotal role in the Black and Reds' quest for the Bundesliga, UEFA Europa League and German Cup triumph.
He had recorded 24 goal involvements before he picked up an adductor injury in January, which is the third most for Xabi Alonso's side at the moment.
The 23-year-old looks set to recover from injury after the international break and will be hoping to pick up from where he left it prior the injury.
