Arsenal, Chelsea or Paris Saint-Germain: Transfer insider reveals Osimhen's likely destination
Published: March 27, 2024
Transfer insider Ben Jacobs has reckoned that Victor Osimhen is more likely to join Paris Saint-Germain and not Chelsea or Arsenal.
The Ligue 1 defending champions have been linked with the Super Eagles forward as they seek to replace club legend Kylian Mbappé who is departing in the summer.
While the Parisians signed Gonçalo Ramos and Randal Kolo Muani last summer, they seem to be ready to bolster their offensive department with the addition of a new striker
With Mbappé's departure putting the French table toppers in a healthy financial situation, they are in a good position to sign Osimhen but would have to hope that the Napoli star abandons his Premier League aspiration to join them.
Speaking on CaughtOffside's The Debrief, Jacobs has also stated that the Nigeria international is more likely to join PSG instead of Arsenal and Chelsea
"Arsenal like Joshua Zirkzee, they have been scouting Viktor Gyokeres, I think it's less likely at this stage that they're too aggressive on Victor Osimhen, PSG are maybe the more likely destination, but if Osimhen decides he wants to come to the Premier League and Arsenal enter the race, Arsenal can go head to head, they might even get ahead, financially speaking, of Chelsea."
The Blues are unlikely to give up on their pursuit of the reigning CAF Men's Player of the Year but may need to be cautious of breaching the Premier League Profit and Sustainability Rules.
For Arsenal, it remains to be seen how much they are ready to push to sign the Napoli forward.
