Manu Garba returns to Golden Eaglets as head coach; assistant roles for Ugbade, Bala Nikyu

Allnigeriasoccer.com can exclusively report that the Nigeria Football Federation are set to appoint Manu Garba as the head coach of Nigeria's U17 national team, the Golden Eaglets.

The Nigerian Federation were seeking a dedicated and experienced coach to nurture young talent and guide them to success on the international stage, and the minimum requirement was for the coach to be in the possession of a CAF B License coaching certificate.

Those upstairs at the Nigeria Football Federation believe Manu Garba is the right person for the job with his glittering curriculum vitae.

Garba was assistant to the late Yemi Tella in 2007 when a Golden Eaglets side with the likes of Macauley Chrisantus, Rabiu Ibrahim and Lukman Haruna won the 2007 Fifa U17 World Cup.

And six years later in the United Arab Emirates, he was the head coach as the Nigeria U17s won the World Cup for the fourth time in their history.

One of the seasoned youth team coaches in the land with an eye to identify players with great potential, Manu Garba has worked with current Super Eagles players Wilfred Ndidi, Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi, Francis Uzoho, Moses Simon and Olorunleke Ojo in the past.

Manu Garba has secured the Golden Eaglets job ahead of other candidates due to his wealth of experience.

The 58-year-old will be assisted by one of his trusted lieutenants Nduka Ugbade, with whom he has worked with in the past, and onetime Nasarawa United manager Bala Nikyu.
