Published: April 13, 2024Arsenal-owned goalkeeper Arthur Okonkwo kept a clean sheet in Wrexham's 6-0 win over bottom-placed Forest Green in an EFL League Two clash played at the STōK Cae Ras on Saturday afternoon
Elliot Lee opened the scoring for the home side, latching on to a bouncing ball to put the ball home in the 17th minute.
Paul Mullin made it two in the 23rd minute, heading the ball into the net inside the six yards box after a link-up play from Lee and James McClean.
An own goal from Ryan Innis gave the home side a three goal cushion and Mullin's deflected effort in the 44th minute put the game beyond the reach of Forest Green.
Three minutes after the hour mark, Ryan Barnett volleyed the ball into the top corner to record Wrexham's fifth of the game and Jack Marriot put the icing on the cake.
The victory sealed the Red Dragons' promotion to the EFL League One with two games left to be played by the club, just a year after their elevation to the League Two
It was a relatively quiet afternoon for Okonkwo whose notable contribution from the game was in the 78th minute when he saved Jordon Garrick's headed effort.
The Anglo-Nigerian shot stopper has now kept 13 clean sheets in the League Two this season, the third highest in the division.
