Tottenham Hotspur in talks about signing Nigerian central defender
Published: April 30, 2024
Tottenham Hotspur are persistently engaging in dialogue with representatives of Fulham's Nigerian defender, Tosin Adarabioyo, as they strive to secure a summer transfer.
The 26-year-old center-back has declined multiple contract extension offers from Fulham, indicating his intention to depart the club upon the expiration of his current deal at the end of June.
This development has sparked a frenzy of interest from top-tier clubs in the Premier League and abroad, with Tottenham keen to establish themselves as the frontrunners in the pursuit of Tosin's signature.
According to Football insider, Tottenham have been working on a potential deal, maintaining regular contact with Tosin's camp.
This sustained effort aims to position the north London club as the prime candidate to secure the defender's services.
Reports also suggest that Liverpool are among the Premier League clubs vying for Adarabioyo's attention, alongside European powerhouses AC Milan, as well as French outfit Monaco.
More recently, West Ham United have also entered the fray, joining the competition for the highly sought-after defender.
Tosin has accumulated an impressive 132 appearances for Fulham, including 25 matches in all competitions this season.
His experience also encompasses eight appearances for Manchester City, where he developed through the club's esteemed youth academy.
Tosin's journey has seen him undertake loan stints with West Brom and Blackburn Rovers before sealing a permanent transfer to Fulham in 2020.
