'Osimhen and Chelsea will not happen' - Fabrizio Romano provides fresh update on future of Napoli star
Published: June 06, 2024
Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen is expected to part ways with Napoli in the summer transfer window despite signing a new contract with Napoli last December.
The likes of Chelsea, Arsenal and Paris Saint-Germain have all been linked with the talented center forward, igniting a frenzy of rumors and anticipation.
Amidst the swirl of speculation, renowned transfer expert Fabrizio Romano recently shared his insights during a YouTube video, shedding light on the intricacies of Osimhen's potential move.
Romano clarified that Osimhen is not currently engaged in advanced negotiations with any other club, despite rumors.
He emphasized that Osimhen will not be be joining Chelsea this summer and the player is convinced that he will depart Napoli before the close of the summer transfer window.
Additionally, Romano reiterated that there are no concrete developments regarding Osimhen's future this week, but he hinted at the possibility of negotiations commencing next week.
"There have been lot of reports on the future of Victor Osimhen. What we can say is that this week nothing concrete is happening or will happen. This is the feeling around Victor Osimhen," Romano said.
"We will see starting from next week what is going to happen with the player waiting to have a conversation also with Napoli to understand the situation.
"Chelsea as I already told you are not going for Osimhen so Osimhen and Chelsea will not happen. As of today this is the feeling.
"Lukaku to Napoli is a serious possibility. Osimhen to Chelsea is no longer a topic at the club.
"Osimhen is still convinced that he will leave Napoli in the summer transfer window and Napoli are still convinced that Osimhen will leave this summer, so now it's about finding the best solution.
"I can guarantee that nothing is advanced yet with any club, they are looking for possibilities, waiting for concrete proposals, so Osimhen is still expected to leave, not going to Chelsea and waiting for the right opportunity.
"It's a strategical moment in the markets let's wait and see what happens but the expectation remains for Victor Osimhen to leave."
