After Ademola Lookman, West Ham linked with move for another Super Eagles forward

According to The Athletic (subscription required), West Ham United are keen on signing Nottingham Forest star Taiwo Awoniyi this summer.
The 2013 Fifa U17 World Cup winner is the second Super Eagles forward linked with a move to the Hammers in the summer transfer window, after Atalanta's history-making player Ademola Lookman, who put himself in the shop window after netting a hat-trick in the final of the Europa League.
West Ham under their new manager Julen Lopetegui and assisted by club technical director Tim Steidten are planning to beef up their squad in the forthcoming transfer window signing a host of players including a forward.
Michail Antonio failing struggled for goals in the recently concluded season and his back up Danny Ings didn't do any better.
This has made it important for the club to sign a new forward this summer to boost their chances of finishing at least in an European spot next season, having finished ninth last term.
Awoniyi has been identified has one who can bolster their attacking department and there is the possibility of the Nigerian striker also joining the one-time UEFA Europa Conference League winners.
The 26-year-old is open to leaving Nottingham Forest and the two-time European champions are also ready to listen to offers from any club interested in getting his signature.
He has been plagued with injuries since his arrival at the City Ground, missing 18 league games due to injury last season which played a part in Forest's struggle to escape relegation.
Awoniyi will have to sort out his fitness if he is to keep getting enough game time wherever he plays in the next campaign.
