Chelsea approach Crystal Palace to ask about details of ex- Super Eagles invitee release clause
Published: June 13, 2024Chelsea appear to have stepped up their interest once again in 2021 Super Eagles invitee Michael Olise.
According to transfer market expert Fabrizio Romano, the Blues have contacted Crystal Palace over the possibility of signing the talented winger this summer.
The West London side have enquired about further details regarding the 22-year-old's release clause which has been reported to be close to £60m.
Olise is among the top targets of the 2021 UEFA Champions League winners for the second consecutive summer with the club missing out on his signature last summer.
Chelsea thought a deal was all but done, only for the former Reading forward to pen a new deal with Crystal Palace, ending their aspirations to sign him last time out.
With the club's struggles last season, they have decided to reignite their interest in Olise after he enjoyed another wonderful campaign with the Eagles.
Only Cole Palmer and Nicolas Jackson had more goal involvements than Olise in the Premier League last season among the current crop of players at Stamford Bridge.
While the Blues have stepped up their interest in the English-born forward, the race for his signing is still said to be open as Manchester United are also interested in bringing him over to Old Trafford.
