'Would do him a lot of good' - Agent urges Osimhen to stay at Napoli and work with Conte
Published: June 14, 2024
Italian agent Vincenzo Morabito believes Super Eagles striker Victor Osimhen would thrive under Antonio Conte if he stays at Napoli.
Conte will be in charge of the Parthenopeans next season after signing a three-year contract last month but may not be able to enjoy the services of Osimhen.
The 25-year-old wants to leave Naples for the Premier League and his decision hasn't changed yet despite Chelsea opting out of the race to sign him as well as Arsenal though the stance of the latter club may have changed.
He is still hopeful of moving to the English top-flight and his optimism may now have grown with Arsenal reportedly reigniting their interest in him after they got snubbed by Benjamin Šeško.
Despite the Nigerian striker's desire to leave Napoli this summer, Morabito has stated that he could be better off staying with the Italian giants.
Speaking to 1Station Radio via Area Napoli, the Italian agent was of the view that the 2015 Fifa U17 World Cup Golden Boot winner would thrive under Conte.
"If I were in the Nigerian player's shoes, I would still remain with the Azzurri under the guidance of the Lecce-born coach. Working with Antonio Conte would do him a lot of good."
Conte has a history of bringing the best out of strikers with Romelu Lukaku and Diego Costa being perfect examples of that having brought the best out of the duo during his stint at Chelsea and Inter Milan respectively.
Besides thriving under Conte, there is also the potential of him winning another Scudetto as the Italian tactician has four Serie A titles in his trophy cabinet.
