Published: June 14, 2024
Through a statement on their official website, Werder Bremen have announced that Super Eagles-eligible forward Justin Njinmah has committed his future to the club by signing a new contract.
The lightning-fast attacker has extended his contract which was due to expire in 2026.
Per club policy, Werder Bremen have not disclosed the financial terms and length of deal Njinmah has signed
Justin Njinmah played 24 games for Werder Bremen in the past season, netting six goals and providing two assists.
The 23-year-old initially joined Werder Bremen's U23 team from Holstein Kiel in 2021.
He then spent 18 months on loan with Borussia Dortmund U23s starting in January 2022, before returning to Werder Bremen in the summer of 2023.
Commenting on his new deal with Werder Bremen, Njinmah said: "I feel at home in this team and in Bremen. The atmosphere at the home games in particular is amazing.
"We have a good team who made a lot of progress last year. I personally feel very good at Werder and I think I can make more steps forward in my career here. That’s why I’ve decided to extend my contract."
Njinmah was not called up for the last eight games played by Werder Bremen in the 2023-2024 campaign due to injury.
Born in Hamburg, the former Altona 93 and Eimsbütteler TV youth teamer qualifies to represent Nigeria through his father as well as his native Germany.
