Official: Peter Ambrose joins Scottish Premiership club once managed by Alex Ferguson

With a statement on their official website,  Aberdeen have announced the signing of Peter Ambrose from Hungarian side Újpest for an undisclosed fee.

Four-time Scottish champions Aberdeen were once managed by legendary Manchester United coach  Alex Ferguson at the beginning of his career.

The center forward has put pen to paper on a three-year contract, with a club option for the 2027-2028 season.

Peter Ambrose started his football career in his home country of Nigeria, playing for the Optimum Academy in Abuja.

He joined the youth team of Turkish club Balikesirspor in 2021 and was promoted to the senior side after he finished the season as top goalscorer.

In November 2022, he moved to the Hungarian capital Budapest to sign for 20-times Nemzeti Bajnokság I winners Újpest.

Peter Ambrose made his debut in the Hungarian top-flight against Zalaegerszeg on November 5, 2022, and played in a total of 45 league games before his switch to Aberdeen.

His most productive season was the one that ended recently, as he scored nine goals in the league, finishing second behind Matija Ljujic on the home goalscoring list.

After a breakout campaign, Ambrose attracted interest from several clubs but opted to join Aberdeen.

He will link up with his new teammates at the start of pre-season preparations in the coming days.
